So like my ex friend Eric was saying I'm looking to get a few things done and didn't know a good place around town to get some work done. My wife's family owns a speed shop in Katy but we where wanting to look at a few options before taking it to them.

I agree. Look around. I had experience with them waaaay back long ago. (OMG 22 years ago now) Kenny Bumbera suggested me down a path that was not a good one. Never went back. But all speed shops can't get everything right.

AED is a GREAT remote tuner. Especially with superchargers.

IMO if you want the biggest bang for the buck. Swap to e85. You will pickup damn near 100RWHP with just a fuel change and a tune. (Not sure if the GT500 needs injectors or BAP)

My first main goal is to get the loudest exhaust with a tune while still being able to get it inspected. My wife likes bassani exhaust, that's what we had on her 07 gt and we liked it a lot. I'm just not sure if we get a cat back exhaust that will be loud enough or if we will have to take the cats off and then worry about getting it inspected.

Wow. First off, congrats that your wife likes mods. It's like asking a turnip for blood over here. 2nd off, Yank those cats off. You can always put them back on at inspection time.

Doesn't Bumberas do inspections.

Offroad pipe and whatever mufflers heavygt500 has. Insanely loud.(if that's what you want) Just throw the cats back on for inspection. It takes 45 mins. I think he's coming Sunday so you can hear it.

I have an aed remote tune and love it. My next choice would be TSS but I didn't want to drive to Orange every time I get the tune updated. VMP is another option for a remote tune, they have done lots of gt500s.

I wouldn't trust ANYONE around here to do it. Definitely not bumberas.(no offense to your wifes family)

Yes, they do inspections... Just wouldn't be my first, second or seventh choice in where to take my business or money. I put a blower and an SCT on the GT back in '08 after putting Bassani exhaust and an off-road x pipe on, cats deleted. No one had time for those bastards. The shop I took it to back in '08 is 300 miles away... Which is not to feasible for working folks. I use to have a connections in town at various shops when I raced oval track but those since have gone to the way side... I'm sure I could work some kind of my deal with them, but would rather start fresh with a reputable shop. All I really need is a good connection to get a race tune slapped on an SCT. The rest I can do myself. - The Wife (the gear head of the family)

AED will give you a sick tune. Makes insane power. All via email. Sounds like that's what you need.

Once you go turbo, no one wants to touch you remotely. It's like you got da AIDS.

Man I wish my car was running for this weekend.
